This young energetic musical theatre group have produced many successful productions to great acclaim. The performers, aged between 10 and 18, have achieved very high standards of production for which the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) have awarded them several ‘Accolade’s of Excellence’ for best productions in youth theatre. The most recent NODA Accolade went to Becky King for her performance as Dolly Levi in Hello Dolly.

The group produces two major productions a year and perform in numerous cabaret and charity events. Many of the members have progressed to become professional singers/dancers.

WOW was formed in 1982 after a highly successful production of 'Oliver', produced by the Weymouth Operatic Society (WOS).  Two of the (WOS) members, Pauline Wootten and Janet Stockley, were asked to form a junior society and Janet Stockley is still with the group, as Chorus Master   The purpose of the group (youngsters from 10 to 18 years of age) was formed not just to create another Operatic Society, but to develop an environment in which young people could learn all aspects of Musical Theatre and carry this into their adult lives.

WOW has gone from strength to strength over the past 20 plus years and has enjoyed many notable successes which you can find on the Achievements page.  

WOW purchased it's own premises in 2003 and now rehearses at 25/27 Park Street, Weymouth (next door to the ‘STAR’ public house) There is a public car park very close by. The building now houses the extensive WOW wardrobe which has been built up over the years.

Visitors to Park street are always welcome our regular rehearsal night is Tuesdays.
